Insomnia Cures Can Help You Rest Better At Night And Wake Up Feeling Refreshed!

Welcome to our website. I've suffered from insomnia off and on for most of my adult life. Routinely only sleeping 3-4 hours per night and feeling tired and sluggish at work during the day.

There are many days where I think that I'm going to rest well tonight only to get home and find myself still working or doing chores  at 1:00AM and 2:00AM.

I had to go through a major shift in my lifesytle to get my sleeping habits worked out.

In this site we will look at some of what I did in my own life and some other tried and true methods to help with your sleeplessness

What is Sleeplessness?

Sleeplessness (or Insomnia) is a state of wakefulness - one where there is an inability to fall asleep, or sleep time is short and disrupted resulting in the sufferer feeling tired on waking. It is a common sleep disorder and studies have shown over 30% of Americans have suffered from sleeplessness at some point in their lives. It can be acute, lasting only a short time, or chronic, lasting more than a month, and can have a detrimental effect on the life of the sufferer.

Acute insomnia usually lasts only a few days and no more than a month. It is usually triggered by a stressful situation such as work, relationship problems, money worries, or a traumatic event. Most times (although not always) the sleeplessness improves once the stress is resolved.

Chronic insomnia is often a side effect or symptom of an underlying problem for instance a medical condition, sleep disorder, or medication.

Sleeplessness can cause numerous problems, the main one being lack of energy and tiredness during the day. Things such as learning, remembering, paying attention, and focusing on tasks can become very difficult. Long term insomnia also has many health implications; from obesity, to depression and even illness. The longer you go without sleep the weaker the immune system becomes leaving you open to infections of all kinds.

The first thing to do is establish the underlying cause of the insomnia, because resolving this may improve your sleep. For instance, if excess noise at night, an uncomfortable bed, or caffeine is causing you sleeplessness, lifestyle changes that fix the problem may help the insomnia. Often better sleep habits are the difference between suffering long term and getting a good night’s sleep.

For chronic insomnia, it is important to visit your doctor. You may be prescribed a medicine or advised on cognitive behavioral therapy.
